| Description |
English: Symonds Yat station This is the site of Symonds Yat railway station. The stone slabs in the centre of the picture are the edging slabs of the old down platform. This, and some remains of ironwork which supported the up platform shelter (which was cantilevered out over the River Wye, out of shot to the right), is about the only tangible remnant of the station. J C Coombes' 1966 photo was taken from four or five yards to the right of mine, but it gives you an idea of what the place used to look like. |
