Description
English: Symbolic headstones at Crowdieknowe The stone on the left is engraved Memento Mori, meaning remember you must die. It has also 3 Deid Bells which is an emblem of mortality. A Deid Bell, a small handbell, was rung to give notice of a funeral and at the funeral itself. There are many interesting symbolic stones in this old burial ground.
