Summary

[edit]
Description

Designed by Architectural firm Greacen & Brogniez, and opened in 1956, the Mid-Century Modern Sylvan Beach Pavilion has been the location of many concerts, weddings, proms and other events.

Damage from Hurricane Ike in 2008 forced its closing and its future was in doubt. Now, though, it is back to performing its intended functions.

On the day that we visited, the pavilion had hosted a function the night before and was being made ready for future events.

Raj Shafaii proudly shared with us the Pavilion's history and his hopes for its future.
