Summary
[edit]DescriptionSwiss Air Force R-2118 "Mata-Hari" Mirage IIIRS reconnaissance Jet (Ank Kumar) 02.jpg |
English: Between 1965 and 1967, Switzerland built 17 Mirage IIIRS "AMIR" under license. The aircraft were registered R-2102 to 2118, whilst R-2101 was French built and delivered to Switzerland by Dassault Aviation (AMD). The Mirage IIIRS replaced the ageing DH. 112 Venom. All reconnaissance Mirages were assigned to Squadron 10 based at Dübendorf
The main difference to the Mirage IIIS was the Omera camera system built into the IIIRS's nose in lieu of the radar, thus giving the nose a distinguished longer shape. Being the last aircraft in its series, R-2118 had an Owl Art named 'mata Hari' in its side. |
