Summary
[edit]DescriptionSwindon railway station geograph-2428215-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg |
English: The unique GWR 'Saint' 4-6-0 with poppet valves. One of the 1911 series of Churchward 'Saint' 4-6-0's, No. 2935 'Caynham Court' was rebuilt in 5/31 experimentally with rotary-cam poppet valves and retained these until withdrawn in 12/48. Here in 1946 it is waiting to leave Swindon with the 13.23 stopping train to Paddington. [One of my earliest photographs]. |
