perfume. Temus moschata.—An evergreen shrub from Chili, with Musk-scentedflowers. Thorn Apple. See Datura. Thuja occidentalis.—An ornamental garden shrub, with bright greenfoliage, everywhere pervaded by a powerful aromatic odour, peculiarin a greater or less degree to the whole family. Thunbergia fragrans.—An herbaceous climber, with snow-whitefragrant flowers, a native of tropical India. Thyme. See Thymus. Thymophylla aurea.—A hardy annual from the United States ofAmerica, with small yellow flowers which yield a strong aromaticodour. Thymus.—A genus of trailing herbs, natives of Europe, and commonin all gardens. T. vulgaris is largely used in British cookery forflavourings. T. citriodorus, the Lemon-scented Thyme, is anotherpopular kind, with a beautifully variegated relation employed asan edging to flower-beds, there are other sorts found growing wildin many parts of the country.
