Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Swann Covered Bridge near Cleveland, Alabama is owned by Blounty County and is the longest-existing covered bridge in Alabama and one of the longest in the United States. Also called the Joy Covered Bridge, the 324-foot bridge crosses the locust Fork of the Black Warrior River. Built in 1933 and on the National Register of Historic Places, it was closed for three years in 2009 due to disrepair. It was closed again in June 2018, after a vehicle accident damaged the bridge including a concrete support.
