Summary
[edit]DescriptionSwalecliffe Avenue Herne Bay.JPG |
English: Swalecliffe Avenue, Herne Bay, Kent, England, looking west across Hampton Pier Avenue, from the bottom corner of West Cliff Drive. In the late 1950s and early 1960s there was a derelict house on the north corner of Swalecliffe Avenue (the left corner in the image). The endpapers of Will Scott's 1955 children's book Half-Term Trail show an idealised sketch of this view, including the derelict house drawn as a holiday cottage, by illustrator Mary Willett. It is possible that Mary Willett was a pseudonym of Will Scott who was a trained artist. |
