Description

Jøran Zahl Marken er førstekonsulent i Seksjon for digitalisering og konservering. Denne uken er det hans tur til å vise frem sitt favorittbilde fra Riksarkivets fotosamling.

"Mitt bilde fant jeg da jeg dykket ned Billedbladet NÅs bildearkiv.I forkant hadde jeg ikke noen favoritt, men bestemte meg for å sjekke ut bilder tatt av min tidligere fotolærer, Ragge Strand. Bildet jeg falt for er portrettet av en røkende Louis Armstrong i baksetet i en bil. Året er 1955 og som det står i reportasjen i nr. 42: 'Svett Louis Armstrong blåste fem fulle hus. Opptøyene i Akersgata under billettsalget gjorde sitt til at man fryktet for rabalder under konserten. Men det ungdommelige publikummet hadde mistet peppen, og vel var det. Ellers hadde Colosseums murer rast sammen. Gjensynet med Louis var hjertelig – selv om hans gamle beundrere nok syntes han spilte bedre den gang han var her for 20 år siden. Men den nye jazzungdommen lot seg henrykke av den 55-årige Louis. Dermed har han bevist at han både som solist og orkesterleder greier å følge en utvikling i større grad enn noen av sine mange kolleger. Og han har i 30 år vært en av jazzens desidert største kunstnere.'”
