Blomvippan, som ståc rätt upp,är något hopdragen och småaxens skaft korta och odelta.Sjelfva axen äro ovala spetsade, något hopklämde, finludnsoch omfatta 5-7 småblomster, hvilkas yttre blomskal äro 2-kL.f;:e i toppen, och borsten längre än blomskalen och raka. På backar och magra ängar träffas icke sällan en litenafart af Ludd-Iostah, knapt half qvartershög och blott nfå , 304-biommige, lutande små ax, som äro nästarv släta;Man skulle snart anse den vara en helt annan art, men börej åtskiijas. Detta grässlag ätes gerna af kreaturen, och må devföreanses fördelaktigt; det skulle äfven kunna odlas på sandställen, men fordrar, såsom blott tuårigt, att till någon delfå fiöa sig, för ait icke utrotas. CL i3« Polyakdria Monog. — Liljebl. Sv. FL V, allmo slägtet är ett af de utmärktaste for de kännemar-ken genom hvilka det bestämmes ibland sina naturliga/ränder, de Vallmo-Wka (Papaveraceae). Dess blomfoder är2:bladigt, ehuru vid sjelfva utvecklingen aftallande. Kron-bladen äro 4; Pistillens märke är nedtryckt, stråligt ochqvarsitter på fröhuset, som är emummigt och öppnar sigmedelst små hål rundtomkring under märkets kant.
