English: Sutton Manor Colliery Then home to the best collection of steam powered colliery plant in the country - two steam winding engines, two compressor engines and a fan engine (all cross compound), two steam turbines, a range of Lancashire boilers and a big water tube boiler (in the tall building by the chimneys). The staff were always very helpful and I visited many times until final closure. |
