Description
English: Had a great discussion this weekend with my Youth Advisory Group on school safety. These students are incredibly engaged and provided meaningful insight to our discussion. About 20 students throughout #IN05 met with me in Zionsville and we were joined by Senator John Ruckelshaus as well as 3 representatives from the Indiana Department of Education. I asked the question, do you feel safe at school? Most students expressed they feel safe, but they also think more needs to be done. Not all students who participated have a school resource officer at their schools and not all students believe their schools are properly secured. As we work in Congress to keep our students safe, I appreciate these students’ valuable insight on such an important issue. Special thanks to the students who are graduating soon. Thanks for spending your Saturday with me!
