Description
Surviving fragments of a mosaic of Orpheus and the animals ("Mosaïque Montant") from Sainte-Colombe, destroyed in a fire in 1968. One other fragment also survives.

Object history Acquired by the city of Lyon in 1823 and exhibited in the Musée des Beaux-Arts until 1954, when it was moved to the workshop of the mosaicist Jouvray in Lyon. Destroyed in a fire in 1968, apart from three fragments now in the Musée Gallo-Romain (Lugdunum) in Fourvière.
