English: U.S. Army Spc. Jesica Cancel, 759th Forward Surgical Team, Fort Bragg, N.C., Operating Room Technician assigned to Camp Wright, Asadabad prepares the sterile table of surgical tools prior to an orthopedic surgery at the camp's FST Oct. 15. This surgery was for an Afghanistan national police member who received a gunshot wound to his leg while performing his duties in the local area. After receiving immediate surgery to repair his injury, he was transferred to a different location to receive long term and specialized care. The FSTs main goal is to provide immediate local surgical treatment for life threatening injuries to help stabilize the patient prior to being transported to more intensive care facilities. |
