Based on the data contained in Figure 3.2 of The Guide to the Basin Plan Volume 1. The data from 2002 has been replaced and extended with data from the Cap register up to 2015-16 water year.

Diversion data for the period 2002-2016 is based on the definition in the Diversion Formula Register. The definition used prior to 1997/98 is unknown but is likely to be only diversions from watercourses and may not include floodplain harvesting or diversions from unregulated streams. For a discussion of these points see the early water audit reports such as Water Audit Monitoring Report 1994/95 and Water Audit Monitoring Report 1996/97. As a result there may be a break in the data series that spans the period 1998-2002 (due to the use of a 5 year rolling average the break in the annual data at 1997/98 will be spread over the subsequent four years on the graph).
