| Description |
c/n CBAF.10164. Operated by the Boultbee Flight Academy and nominally based at Goodwood, although she is a regular at Duxford and one of the Spits available for rides. She was originally an HF.IXe single seater and was shipped to South Africa arriving in June 1948. She was retired in 1954 and sold as scrap. The remains were recovered to the UK in 1989 and restored using a new-built fuselage. A change of owner in 2002 saw her now being rebuilt as a two-seat T.9 and she flew again in October 2008. She initially wore false Royal Netherlands Air Force markings as ‘H-99’, which is probably where the civil registration ‘G-ILDA’ came from. Sold at auction in 2009, she was then repainted in her current RAF scheme. Seen taxiing out at the eastern end of Duxford Airfield, Cambridgeshire, UK. 26th January 2018 |
