[edit]DescriptionSupermarine Scimitar F1 803 NAS c1962.jpg | A Royal Navy Supermarine Scimitar F.1 (XD244) from 803 Naval Air Squadron assigned to the aircraft carrier HMS Hermes (R12). XD244 became the last flying Scimitar which made its last flight from RAF Hurn, Dorset (UK), to London Southend Airport, Essex, on 13 February 1971. Two days later it was transported by road to the Foulness Island range and used as a target. Remains were still visble in 1989. |
