| Description |
English: Looking down Humphreys Drive in Section 1 of Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, in the United States. The building in the distance is the Superintendent's Lodge. Constructed in 1932 to house the cemetery Superintendent and his family, the lodge was occupied by Superintendent John C. Metzler, Sr., from 1951 to 1972. It was occupied by Raymond J. Costanzo Sr., from 1972 to 1990, and by Metzler's son, John C. Metzler, Jr., from 1991 to 2010. The lodge had wall-unit air conditioning added in 1961, and its electricity upgraded in 1964. It underwent a major renovation in 1991. |
