English: Sunken track on the moor edge A well defined sunken track leading from the dale bottom up on to the moor. Such tracks always pose questions about why they are there and how old they might be. The ruins of Ellerton Abbey are in the valley bottom, so maybe this was a routeway to and from the abbey. |
