Description
English: Sungkem Tlompak is a ritual of the Padepokan art community of Gejayan, Banyusidi, Pakis, Magelang, Central Java cultural residents who are generally Muslim, but also hold strong ancestral traditions. This tradition is carried out after Idul Fitri with the aim of praying for the spirits of the ancestors, especially Panembahan Tlompak who became the founder of the village. The ritual is held at the tlompak spring which is believed to be a relic of the Panembahan.
