English: Knocknarea is a striking isolated limestone hill on the Strandhill Peninsula, much favoured by walkers. The heather-covered summit plateau stretches westwards from the top (capped by Queen Maeve's Cairn) and from the end, commands wide views of Strandhill beach and Sligo Bay. |
