Summary
[edit]DescriptionSummit of Meall Mòr - geograph.org.uk - 210523.jpg |
English: Summit of Meall Mòr. Normality is restored. The usual state of a Scottish hilltop in summer. A rainy break from the heatwave, yet I was told it was sunny at the east end of Loch Katrine at the time. This is quite normal, often the high ground on the West Coast raises the moist air high enough to condense out the Atlantic humidity as a fine rain, leaving little left for the east. Air descending from these heights warms too. Areas in the lee of hills are often very warm and dry.
Meall Mòr is a notoriously steep hill 747m high above Rob Roy MacGregor's old farm of Glengyle. It has many landslips and its complex topography must have been very good for hiding MacGregors and their booty. |
