of all is aroundCanadarago Lake, a distance of twelve miles over a road as smooth as a floor. Cana-darago Lake is a delightful place for boating and fishing. A pleasure steamer pliesdaily for public or private accommodation. The main dock is but one mile from thevillage. The erection of one of the most complete bathing establishments in the world,a few years since, has made the place famous as a water cure and bathing resort.The celebrated White Sulphur Spring supplies the new bathing establishment withmineral water, which is used for baths as well as for beverages, with almost incredibleresults in healing and restoring the feeble and infirm. Several prominent medicalsocieties have met here during the past few years, and their resohttions concerningthe V^aths have always been commendatory. The hotels and boarding houses are good and numerous, and several may befound along the shores of Canadarago Lake. Churches of various denominationsflouri.sh, and the Springs boast of a daily paper.
