Keuka Park, on the west shore of theLake, four miles from Penn Yan, is a pro-jecting circle of land rising gently from thewaters edge, containing 160 acres, 40 acresof grove and 170 rods water frontage. Hereare the large buildings of Keuka College,dozens of commodious cottages, and theCollege Boarding Hall, open to summerguests, the great ampitheatre and assemblypavilion, where thousands gather everysummer to attend lectures, concerts andreligious convocations, and delightful homesnear where boarders are entertained. Thestreets are capital for wheelmen and amplefacilities for boating and fishing supplied.Frequent mails, a money order P. O.,steamers and stages, and an electric R. R.to Penn Yan, are among the conveniencesof the Park. Lake Keukas grapes have a nationalreputation, while its champagnes are onlyrivalled by those of foreign vintages. The winecellars are well worth coming miles to see,and the hospitality extended to the visitoris as broad as the sky. The Germania Wine Cellars are situatedin the beautiful and far-famed PleasantValley, between Hammondsport and Rheims.The cellars are prominently situated on theside of the hill with beautiful and extensivevineyards surrounding them. There arefrom lo.ooo to 15,000 acres of fine vineyardsin this great belt, from which the Germaniacellars select the best and finest quality ofgrapes suitable for making their differentwines. The grapes are picked and selectedwith great care, and every rotten and imper-pect grape is carefully removed before goingto the press to be made into wine.
