The pretty town of Geneva, with a popu-lation of 9,000, is pleasantly situated on theshores of Seneca Lake. It was the principal seat of theSenecas, and there still remains in thevicinity an ancient fortification erected bythe mound builders, as well as an oldIndian cemetery, which has not as yet beendesecrated by the plow. The climate of thissection is fine, and the means of livingabundant. The mineral springs near by arehighly esteemed for their health restoringproperties.
