Description During much of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, Seiyun was the capital of an independent sultanate in the Hadhramawt Valley of Yemen. This palace, originally a fort, was the official residence of the sultan. Part of it is now used as an ethnographical museum which display exhibitions on the traditions and customs of the region.
