Description Buckwheats and Penstemons are great drought-tolerant native plants; a number of these species are included in the Siskiyou Arboretum Native Plant Water Conservation Demonstration Garden. Here a Sulfur Buckwheat (Eriogonum Umbellatum) and a Penstemon are flowering in July.
