[edit]DescriptionSuilven's Western Summit (GM-NS-060) looking SE - geograph.org.uk - 1139687.jpg |
English: Suilven's Western Summit (GM/NS-060) looking SE This photo looks SE from Suilven's 731m Western Summit (GM/NS-060) under gathering rain clouds. The summit cairn is just out of left frame. At extreme left in the distance, at a range of 5km stands the 846m mountain of Canisp (GM/NS-030). Towards the centre of the picture and 1.2km away is the dramatically sharp eastern summit of Suilven; Meall Meadhonach (723m). Down below can be seen various Lochs. Just right of centre is Cam Loch with Lochs Boreal & Urigill beyond it (left & right) in the far distance. Somewhere between these three on the A837 is the settlement of Ledmore. Near right of frame the small Loch nearest the camera with the spit of land projecting into it, is called Loch Nan Rac. The long body of water beyond that and exiting the frame at the right hand side is Loch Veyatie. Its remote eastern end points the way to Elphin on the A835 road. Taken on 20th May 2008 at 10:53 during the first SOTA activation G4YSS. |
