Sue Harvard, opera singer dies in New York Mrs. Herbert Newton Armstrong, the former Sue Harvard of New Castle, died in a New York City Hospital yesterday. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Harvard. Mrs. Armstrong was a soloist in the Mikado Club in New Castle for many years. Later she sang in churches in Steubenville, Ohio and Pittsburgh, then into the concert field in New York where she became a member of the Metropolitan Opera. She was a soloist of the Marble Collegiate Church in New York for many years. Surviving are four sisters, Mary and Elizabeth Harvard and Mrs. Margaret Wiggins of New Castle and Mrs. Sara Johns of New Brighton; a brother David G. of Rochester, New York; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Mrs. Charlies (Tabitha) Davis; and two brothers, William and John. Friends will be received at be Walter Williams Funeral Home, 152 E. 24th Street, New York City from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. A service will be held at 10:20 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of the Brick Presbyterian Church, Park Avenue and 91st, Street, with Dr. D. Reginald Thomas, originally from Wales, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, New York City.
