(35.56 cm x 74.77 cm) Publisher: Hayashiya Shogoro Credit Line: Gift of Alice Klauber Label Copy: "During the late 1840s there was an increased demand for figural triptychs, and a number of artists produced interesting works in this genre. This print features three women with kasa (Japanese umbrellas) caught in a torrential summer downpour. Kuniyoshi here emphasizes the relentless power of the downpour through his almost abstract depiction of the driving rain." Label Copy (Spanish): "A finales de los 1840 increment la demanda por trpticos figurativos y varios artistas produjeron obras interesantes en este gnero. Esta impresin presenta a tres mujeres con kasa (sombrillas japonesas) en un aguacero torrencial de verano. Aqu, Kuniyoshi enfatiza la fuerza del chaparrn con su representacin casi abstracta de la lluvia azotadora."
