| Description |
English: Sudbrook Point Sandstones of the Mercia Mudstone Group dating from the Triassic period provide some relief on this otherwise lightly featured coast. The supporting piers of the Second Severn Crossing provide the modern day backdrop to this view. The beach is composed of a great mix of Triassic sandstones, Carboniferous limestones and sandstones and half-rounded pieces of brickwork. Offshore the waters of the estuary are underlain by a thick blanket of oozing mud. |
