English: A Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft, part of the Indian air force, lands at Lajes Field on a stop as they return from a recent Red Flag. Red Flag is an advanced aerial combat training exercise, offers training to pilots from all branches of the United States military, NATO and other allied countries for real combat situations. “It’s the first time we have ever been there,” said Wing Commander George Thomas, commander of the 20th Squadron, the Lightings, “but I think we held our own.” He also said, “It was a very good exercise, very challenging and it was had outstanding training value.” |
