English: This time of the year the tiny thrips appear on plants.
This thrip was on a Stylidium leptocalyx flower and got caught by one of the glandular hairs on the shoulder. The thrip tried walking away and was able to walk twice the length of itself before the glandular substance broke and released the insect. Order: Thysanoptera |
