Description
English: Stuttgarter Psalter - Cod.bibl.fol.23, folio 163v cropped for buisine. Calling this instrument a buisine, based on the following: "Buisine...[Old French] term for larger horns and trumpets...until the late 12th c. it was a long horn, slightly curved, used as a martial signal instr. By the 13th c. it was supplanted by a straight, long Saracen trumpet to which the name buisine was transfered."[1]
