Summary
[edit]DescriptionStrood 1st railway station (site), Kent (geograph 5276099).jpg |
English: Strood 1st railway station (site), Kent Opened in 1845 by the South Eastern Railway as the terminus of its line from Gravesend, this station closed to passengers in 1856 when it was replaced by a new station out of view to the left, when the line was extended to Maidstone and Paddock Wood. View north, end on, with the line terminating on the other side of the road behind the fence on the extreme left. The main building was approximately where the portacabin type building is with the platform to the left of it. After demolition, the site was used for many years as goods sidings. No trace appears to now remain. |
