Summary
[edit]DescriptionStrindberg 1879.jpg |
English: Portrait of August Strindberg taken by portrait photographers Christian and Ida du Jardin, 1879.
When the photograph is taken, Strindberg is 30 years old and he has made a breakthrough as a writer with the Red Room. The satirical Stockholm novel "The Red Room. Depictions of Artist and Author Life" became a great audience success. At the time of the breakthrough, Strindberg adds an image he would keep for life; he combs his hair to a lion man and grows a mustache and a small chin. On the left ring finger we see a smooth gold ring. Two years earlier, he had married the actress Siri von Essen. |
