English: Stream flowing towards Poachy Glen. This is a view downstream, as the water cascades through the woods for a short distance before joining the Poachy Burn.
Almost all of the water in this stream presently comes from the overflow at Carman Reservoir. From the point of overflow at Carman Reservoir (1224885), the water is diverted underground for a distance of 150 metres, and, where it emerges again (1224889), it is joined by another, much weaker stream. Given how deep and well-established this stream's channel is (as shown in this photograph), it seems likely that the present overflow exploits a stream channel that existed when Carman Reservoir was simply Carman Loch; that stream was perhaps the natural channel for overflow from the loch.
