ghtly fitting the form, and moreor less elaborately trimmed withembroidery or lace, suitable for thematerial. The morning skirts and jackets,are pronounced more convenientand pleasant to wear when working,than the all-in-one wrappers ; be-cause being detached, the arms canbe raised at will, without drawingup the skirt, as is the result when awrapper is worn. Such morning dresses are notalways confined to the plain goodsfor working purposes ; but are oftenof handsome fabrics, elegantly madeand trimmed. Sometimes the skirts are ofsoft woolen plaid goods, or striped or plainfabrics, with solid color cloth jackets, fanci-fully cut, and elaborately braided. Some-times the jackets worn with light colorcashmere skirts, are of dark rich velveteenor velvet; but generally such morning suitsare made of the cheaper woolen goods or ofpretty cotton materials, such as calico, per-cale, or sateen, in striking combinations ofplain and figured fabrics.
