Strathpeffer is a popular watering-place near the shores of the Cromarty Firth. It is a rambling little village in a picturesque valley at the foot of Ben Wyvis, famous for its medicinal springs. These possess chalybeate and sulphurous properties, and are greatly resorted to by sufferers from rheumatism and other ills. Knock Farrel (720 feet high) is about two miles from the town.
