English: Cartoon adverts from series "Strange but True!". It was a series of fifty cartoon adverts placed by Currys Ltd in the cycling press. It was compiled by the magazine correspondent ‘Wheeler’ who invited readers to submit the cycling oddities that formed the series, addressed to Frank Gayton, a well-known Leicester artist. The N7 issue is one of the first mentions of the Fat bike prototype: "W. Ritchie the famous trick rider built a bicycle fitted with balloon tyres". Date is before 1932. Place: Leicester, UK |
