Description
English: Students of progressive boarding school Schule am Meer (School by the Sea) on the East Frisian island Juist in Prussia, playing ball on the wide beach north of the school's compound. On the left: Paul Hagen Distelbarth (* 24 June, 1918 in Morchenstern near Gablonz, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary; † 4. Juli 1941 in or near Dagda, Reichskommissariat Ostland), 2nd from the right: Ruth Elisabeth Reiner (born 15 September, 1922; deceased 28 May, 1948 in Marina di Massa, Toscana, Italy). – During WWII Paul Hagen Distelbarth served at the airforce of German Wehrmacht. As a 1st Lieutenant he died in action against the Red Army as pilot of a fighter-bomber Messerschmitt Bf 110 C-5.
Deutsch: Ballspielende Schüler des reformpädagogischen Landerziehungsheims Schule am Meer am Strand der ostfriesischen Nordseeinsel Juist nördlich des Internats. Ganz links: Paul Hagen Distelbarth (* 24. Juni 1918 in Morchenstern bei Gablonz, Böhmen, Österreich-Ungarn; † 4. Juli 1941 in/bei Dagda, Reichskommissariat Ostland), drittes Kind und zweiter Sohn des Paul Distelbarth; 2. von rechts: Ruth Elisabeth Reiner (geboren 15. September 1922; gestorben 28. Mai 1948 in Marina di Massa, Toskana, Italien), dritte von vier Töchtern des S.a.M.-Lehrers Dr. phil. nat. Paul Reiner. – Paul Hagen Distelbarth diente im Zweiten Weltkrieg bei der Luftwaffe der Wehrmacht. Er fiel als Oberleutnant und Pilot eines Jagdbombers des Typs Messerschmitt Bf 110 C-5 im Kampf gegen die Rote Armee.
