Description
English: Straad Village, Isle of Bute Straad is a Viking word for 'street'. Up till the end of the 19th century, Straad was a vibrant place with its own sheltered anchorage on nearby St Ninian's Bay - it also had a mill, a smithy (which was housed in the building on the right of this picture), a cooperage, a joinery, and two inns.
