Description
Deutsch: Der Brunnen Nummer 40 in Prenzlauer Berg steht am östlichen Ende der Gürtelstraße, die am Südrand des Jüdischen Friedhof Weißensee als Fußweg weiterführt. Er steht am Straßenrand der Gürtelstraße vor dem Gebäude Gürtelstraße 26, Grundstücksgrenze zu 25. Der Standort befindet sich gegenüber der Freien Waldorfschule am Prenzlauer Berg und vor dem Gebäude 26 der Nordberliner Werkgemeinschaft für Behinderte und in 25 eine Kindertagesstätte. Der Pumpenzylinder auf seinem Quellstandrohr aufgeschraubt besitzt ein kurzes Auslaufrohr mit Haken. Zusammen mit dem runden halboffenen Straßeneinlass steht er zwischen den Gehwegplatten aus der Bauzeit um 1970. Bei einer Begehung im Juli 2019 floss beim Pumpen Wasser, aber der Schwengel klemmte.[1]

  1. ↑ Ende Juni war in der Abendschau vom rbb der Brunnen Gürtelstraße Thema, da eine Zuschauerin - an heißen Sommertagen - sich an den Sender gewandt hatte: Der Brunnen war nicht betriebsbereit. Der Amtsleiter nannte Kosten für die Reparatur eines Brunnens mit 4000…5000 Euro. Einen Monat später war es nun möglich Grundwasser zu pumpen. Da nach einigen Pumpenhüben zumindest rostbraunes Wasser floß, trotz des „klemmenden“ Schwengels, ist die Nutzung jedoch wohl eher selten. Obwohl die Betriebsbereitschaft vom Amt hergestellt wurde.
