Now, we sometimes think that all theexploring was done in the times of De vSotoand La Salle ; but this is not so. It is hard for us to understand it; butw^hen in 1804 — only about ninety years ago —these two brave men set out, there was just asmuch danger and hardship before them asever there had been in the days of De Sotoand La Salle.
