Description
English: The NSG Rheinaue Walsum (DU 002) is a varied and diverse part of the Rheinaue in the Duisburg area, in which, in addition to various still waters, partly with swimming leaf vegetation and reed zones, moist grassland areas are richly divided by various woodstructures in the form of hedgerows, (head) rows, individual trees, field trees, fruit pastures and silver pastures. Thanks to several nesting aids built, storks have been breeding in the Rheinaue for several years. The NSG Rheinaue Walsum is part of the nationally important interconnector "Rhine Corridor" and as part of the internationally important wetland Lower Rhine.
Deutsch: Beim NSG Rheinaue Walsum (DU 002) handelt es sich um einen abwechslungsreichen und vielgestaltigen Teil der Rheinaue im Raum Duisburg, in dem sich neben verschiedenen Stillgewässern, z. T. mit Schwimmblatt-Vegetation und Röhrichtzonen, feuchte Grünlandbereiche, die durch verschiedene Gehölzstrukturen in Form von Hecken, (Kopf-) Baumreihen, Einzelbäumen, Feldgehölzen, Obstweiden und Silberweidenauwald reich gegliedert sind. Dank mehrerer errichteter Nisthilfen brüten seit einigen Jahren Störche in der Rheinaue. Das NSG Rheinaue Walsum ist Teil der landesweit bedeutsamen Verbundachse "Rheinkorridor" und als Teilfläche des international bedeutsamen Feuchtgebietes Unterer Niederrhein.
