Title
Stoneware lidded jar 0003
Description
Stoneware lidded jar is a cylindrical lidded jar with a drop lid and strap handle. It has white glaze with blue brushwork underglaze decoration, a trimmed foot and painted marks on the bottom inside foot ring. Researchers' notes comment that it looks like Karatsu ware of the 16th century and possibly was a water jar for a tea ceremony; or Late Edo to Meiji periods (1789-1912.)
