English: Stones on Hill of Laxowater, Shetland. The peculiar aspect to this photo is how to explain the presence of this collection of stones which are on top of 0.3-0.4m of eroded peat. Were they placed there in recent times? Are they the remains of an old cairn which has collapsed as some 2m of peat have eroded? Any suggestions? |
