English: "Jada" means water tank in the 16th century Newari language in the lower corner of the Mahalakshmi temple in the 19th and 20th ward i.e. Hanumandhoka Durbar Square or Maru tol of Kathmandu district. It has a stone channel in the middle and a small hole through which water used to flow. A hole is made in a very artistic style in a single stone to drain the water. There is also a statue of Lord Bhagirathi at the bottom of this very artistic style water tank i.e. at the bottom of the water coming from the hole. The water from the hole used to fall on Lord Bhagirathi. On top of it is placed a very artistic gajur\ look. This is also one of the old monuments in the Hanuman Dhoka complex. |
