Description Stone Faces, Leeds Town Hall, UK, 27082016 JCW1967, OPE, HDR (4). This is a portrait of Robert Mawer, by Catherine Mawer. Normally the Mawer Group used to crown the architect, but Cuthbert Brodrick was sculpted as the Smyrna Zeus, which does not have a crown. Robert Mawer's work on this building is some of his best, and he died before he could finish, so the crown is a sign of appreciation.
