Summary
[edit]DescriptionStolperstein für Hansi Thaler.JPG |
English: „Stumbling stone“–memorial for Hansi Thaler, last living at main street number 4 in St. Johann im Pongau, Salzburg (state), Austria. He is a victim oft he Viennese euthanasia clinic „Am Spiegelgrund“ in Vienna, Baumgartnerhöhe. Stolperstein is the German word for "stumbling block", "obstacle", or "something in the way". The artist Gunter Demnig has given this word a new meaning, that of a small, cobblestone-sized memorial for a single victim of Nazism set in the pavement before the building in which this person lived or worked. The placement of these stumbling block was initiated by the Association History Workshop St. Johann im Pongau.
